Probably a short in the USB port. In my earlier post I said cable, I meant port.

There are three ports in the front of PC. All three are giving me the shock! Going to fire up notebook now and see if I get shock from there too.

Sounds like a bad cable. Somehow the +5 line is getting to the ground, which is then making contact with the case when plugged in. It's shocking no doubt, but I wouldn't worry about dying off that.

Regardless, I would use a different cable.

Get shock using new cable that came with phone and 2 other cables from ipods past.

Yeah, I'm not worried about dying, but will my phone survive?!

At any rate, it's not a problem as long as I don't touch the bezel when placing or removing from dock. I'll still see if I can duplicate at Apple store, perhaps later this week.

If you've changed cables and USB ports and all, i'd say it the iPhone. Better exchange it!

You should really keep your hand on the phone as it shocks you. Maybe you could develop superpowers and become iphoneman! With the abilities to give customers basic cellphone functions!
