2.2 Upgrades with 3G Gevey TURBO SIM

But to be quite frank about the whole locking thing, as Apple's share price continues to fall, and with their iPhone sales dropping as of late, I see no other solution for them than to sell unlocked phones in the future if they want to maintain a steady level of phone sales amidst this global economic crisis. Otherwise, they could find themselves dealing with a bunch of unhappy shareholders and lower revenues.

I doubt that will happen until the current carrier agreements expire, by which time the '4G' will be out along with renewed carrier agreements.

So they are selling something you can download free elsewhere. Very industrious!

I still would like to try and rollback my phone to 2.1 and see if I can get it working again with the Turbosim. Its worth a try for now until a new Turbosim is released to support 2.2. I think devteam's comment saying that it wont work is more based upon the fact that a 2.1 rollback after a 2.2 upgrade wont work with whatever unlock they might have forthcoming. I tend to like to try things for myself though becuase you just never know.

I knew it. As I said and as every one else says, there aren't any software unlock methods for the iPhone 3G yet, only jailbreaking software is available. I doubt any one can get to the unlocking software of the 3G before iPhone Dev Team can.

I think it's based on the fact that 2.2 includes a baseband update. Good luck with it though.
