Default Went case shopping today-Discouraged :-(

I tried the following on my 3g at lunch today (I have BG skin on front/back, I don't know if that made a difference):
  • Sena Elega pouch--WAY too tight, guy at apple store almost couldn't get my phone out
  • Sena Ultra slim pouch--Didn't even try with the other one being too tight
  • Marware Glide pouch--Couldn't hear phone ring because there are no holes where the speaker is
  • Canvas ECO case--YUCK, just yuck
  • DLO Horizonal Leather case with belt clip--Was the best, but not what I want
I just want a pouch that is not too tight so I don't take forever getting the phone out, will protect my phone from drops, and has holes on the bottom so I can hear it ring. I want a pouch that I can just slide it in and out of easily. Any help is appreciated.

I have the Sena Elega pouch. It is tight. My ringer always gets changed to real soft where I cannot hear the phone ring. I thought the marware slip case had real cheap crappy leather. I have a Beyza slip case for my v1 and it is just right. Not too tight, and really nice leather. I am thinking of buying one for 3g, but I cannot decide on which one. I am on my phone, or I would copy and paste you a link. Go to beyzacases.com.

Hi Lisa,

I just looked at the beyza case link. I wish I could find one of the slimline's in a store to try it out. I worry about it fitting too tight. I found this 20% couponcode if you decide to order one. CAD9WINDOWSMOBILE247
I think it worked for someone yesterday...

What store did you try out the cases? I've been looking around for stores here in Canada but no one seems to be carrying too many cases (most stores have some variety of lame silicone types, if anything).

Currently I'm in love with the sena Ultra slim ones. However, I'd really like to try b4 buying (to test the fit with an invisibleshield, also how hard it'd be to pull it out).

On topic though, looks like you're looking for leather ones? Take a look at the vaja cases, expensive but seem to be really well made.

I tried the Sena ultraslim at an apple store. Although, I don't think it was cut for a 3g, but the original iphone. (Mine is a 3g) I was really hoping that it would fit too because its exactly what I'm looking for. It has good reviews if you look it up in the apple store, but many complain of it fitting too tight as well.

I'll take a look at the vaja cases again. I wasn't expecting to pay so much, but I'm getting desperate!

There's no case that does all that I want. I still want one with a vertical clip and a stand (preferably a vertical and horizonatal stand). Right now I'm using a Griffin Wave case, which is nice because it's a blend of hard and soft case. I also use the Marware CEO Premiere so I have a semblance of a clip. And it's nice to protect the iPhone from the dangerous Hawaii sun.

I love my Arctic Rebel, but occasionally I prefer to go naked/bulk free. I bought the Sena ultraslim shortly after buying my 3G. It was very tight at first, but after a week or two it'll loosen up enough. It's very easy to get out by pinching the bottom a little. That pushes it out the top and allows you to grab the top and pull it out. It adds almost nothing to the phone, but I can keep it in my pocket without worrying about change/keys.

The coupon code does work! thanks

I had the slimline for v1. There is an opening in the bottom for the speaker, and you use that to push the phone up and out. I remember the case was a little snug for about a week, but it is not too tight or too loose. The leather they us is way better than any leather case you get in the Apple store, even nicer quality than the Sena cases, IMO. The slimline is slightly padded and the interior is velvety. I got some junk on the case and I used my Coach leather conditioner and cleaner on it and it cleaned up really nicely.

I think I am going to get the slimline for 3G in Orange, since football season is coming upon us soon. Go Gators. It is under $30 with the 20% discount.

EDIT: I ordered the Slimline for 3G in Flo Orange. It was $40.70 with shipping after the 20% discount. These cases are made in Turkey.

I only had one case for V1. I think I am keeping my White 3G for longer than I kept V1, so I am planning on getting more cases.
