Default Just bought DLO Surface Shields from BestBuy

12 bucks includes 5 shields.
Easy to put on and works great. Protects very well against smudges.
Only complaint is it makes the screen look "grainy". I'm guessing its b/c of the anti-glare protection. Its really bothering me but I'm hoping I'll get used to it. Has anyone else bought this and having this problem?

I use the Crystal Film protectors which are around $15 for two. I did see the DLO protectors at BB recently and was interested because I've been very pleased with all other DLO accessories I've purchased in the past and you can't beat the price unless, of course, they simply don't work well. I've always changed my film protectors on occassion on my first gen iPhone. I just like the look and feel of the new film and they do actually take a beating. Keep us posted and let us know how they work out for you!

Can I have a link where you bought them please?

How are they? Any complaints about them?

I haven't used those, but I've used anti-glare protectors in the past. You're right, they do make the image slightly grainy. You do get used to it, but when I did my last warranty exchange and saw a fresh screen, I couldn't go back. I use crystal shields now.

You just have to weigh the other benefits of the anti-glares (of which there are many) with this one negative point.

So w/ the crystals it looks just like a clear screen...no graininess?

Do the crystal ones lessen the smudges?

radack,
You can get the "Power Support Crystal Film" from the Apple store if there is one in your area. Here's a link to their website for more information. They may have dealer links on their website but not sure. The image is crystal clear though. I've also used anti-glare and the privacy films in the past but much prefer the crystal ones.

itsnowornever,
Unfortunately that's not been my experience. I'm beginning to think I've just got greasy fingers... LOL which really shouldn't be the case since I live in one of the driest climates on earth. I do get smudgies but I think it's less than with the naked screen. Anyway, I always have a microfiber towel near by. A quick wipe down gets rid of them.

I used the crystal film on my v1 and it was always covered in fingerprints and oils. I switched to the anti glare and don't notice the grainy look anymore (I don't think it that bad to begin with).

The crystal film certainly looked a little clearer, but I couldn't take wiping the screen constantly.

Just returned my best buy anti glare ones and went to the apple store and got the crystal covers. They're awesome. Doesn't seem like theres anything on the screen at all!

I bought DLO shields from Best Buy when Apple and AT&T were sold out. I even bought the v1 versions (which fit but not perfectly - a little off at the home button). I like it but yes it's a little "grainy." If you don't put your face too close to the screen you can't even tell. After I use up this bunch of screen protectors, I'm going with the crystals.
