Question Is the candyshell any better these days?

Alright, I -had- a white/red candyshell, and it cracked beneath the home button, literally, the day after I bought it. So, I returned it and picked up a speck pixelskin. I like the pixelskin, but apparently the hot weather that comes with living in Houston causes the rubber to expand, and fit my phone pretty loosely. I like the case, but this problem is REALLY annoying.

I know that a while back, Speck changed it's entire color line-up on the candyshell line. Has anyone picked up one of the new ones? If so, how has it been for you? I'm wondering if Speck also found a way to keep the bottom of the case from breaking so easily.

*hopes really hard*

I have the cranberry/white & the purple candyshell and I haven't had any problems with either one.

I've had a pink one for a week and love it. No problems thus far.

I had the white/cranberry and the plastic on the bottom cracked on mine too, but so what? It doesn't impact anything. The rubber is fused to the plastic so essentially the rubber is holding it together still. I don't see the big problem with the little crack...

Well, partly because I am a nit-picker and do not like having a crack in my case. Also, I had several(4 or 5) hairline cracks that developed daily, all located in the same area, but on the back of the case. As far as I am concerned, that is unsatisfactory craftsmanship.

I've never tried one, but I'm thinking about getting the Dexter Speck case.
