just an update... I finally managed to get this to work. I had been using a DLO antiglare protector. Now I'm using a Power Support, which is a bit more narrow. After several tries (and 3 discards protectors) I managed to get it centered just right so that the case didn't cause any bubbles. I did find a small piece of dust under the protector, but the thought of starting over yet again is too much to bear!
I just bought the INCASE SLIDER for my iPhone 3G. Big problem guys! When I put my iPhone 3G in the INCASE SLIDER I get no bars! I cannot make any phone calls or receive. The INCASE SLIDER covers the signal or STOPS the signal from getting through. I get internet service, but no bars.
I wish i heard other people talking about this problem so I could find a solution!
I will return this right away. First I will call INCASE on monday.
That's really interesting. That's the second time I have seen someone claim a case interfered with the cell signal. That's not normal. Either cases are being made with a different material than before, or your phone is the problem. I have a 3G with a white slider case and have no problems with signal strength.
Hi thanks for your reply
I know it's the incase slider cuz as soon as
I remove the incase slider from my
3g 16gb iPhone I get my signal back
I put the lower part if the incase back
on and immediently lose my signal without
even putting the other top half of the
incase slider back on.
This incase slider has way too many problems
from all that I have read from others about.
It's a damn case cover it should not
have all these problems.
My point is that the slider is plastic, and shouldn't interfere with the signal at all. If you try other cases and do not have this problem, then it is clearly the case, but if other cases are doing it too, then I suggest going to Apple and have them inspect the phone. Incase is an approved accessories vendor, and if their cases are now inadvertently blocking cell signal, then it needs to be brought to the attention of both Incase and Apple.
I called incase support team and they told me that they've been getting a lot of complaints that the case has been cutting out signals for mor people with the new 3GS than those with the 3G. However they to have been getting the same complaints with the 3G as well.
As soon as I remove the incase slider from my iPhone 3g I immediently get my bars back. So with that said it is obvious that my iPhone is not the issue. To reply to your response about the incase slider only being plastic I must say your wrong. It is a battery pack also. As soon as the iPhone plugs into that battery pack, the incase slider, I lose my signal bars completely.
Incase support told me that I need to just return it and they can't fix the problem that they will be releasing a new one that will solve this problem around the coming holidays.
To bad cuz I kind of like this case, however there are way to many provle
s people are reporting about it. You may not be experiencing problems similiar but many others are.
Ahhh well, it makes a huge difference when you say Incase Slider, when what you are talking about is a Power Slider. The regular slider cases do not have a battery in them.
