Default Any opinions on Skinomi Techskin (3G)?

Sometimes I just love the look of a naked iphone, I currently have a white slider (makes the iphone look kinda cheap imo), and the clearshield by Agent 18 (don't like the 2 clear grips on the back).

So I ordered a skin for the times I don't feel like using a case, didn't feel like spending 25 bucks. Found another skin that advertises it doesn't yellow (unlike the IS from what I heard), doesn't have that orange peel effect, and only costs 11 bucks with free shipping, with the GET25 coupon.

Anyone else use this skin? They advertise "dent protection", just wanted to see how accurate this was.

I was also wondering if there was a clear case available that comes over just the chrome bezel ONLY (and not over the screen), looks simple in the back, and doesn't get scratched up just from simple every day uses, like the .

Update: I installed my techskin yesterday, and it looks fantastic. The screen looks even more glossy, less prone to finger prints. Still waiting on a few tiny bubbles to disappear on the back. The one thing that I love, and hope not to jinx, is the fact that it will not turn yellow (as advertised). I put it side by side with a 3GS who had an invisible shield on for the past couple of weeks, and you could tell there was a huge difference in color immediately (IS was already quite yellow).

I also liked the overall feel of the techskin better (screen glides pretty smoothly), and while it still has somewhat of an orange peel effect, it's definitely not as bad as the invisible shield. I'll take a picture of it once the bubbles go away in order to give everyone an idea of it.

Since the techskin isn't a popular item that is talked about frequently on forums (couldn't find anything when searching for related topics), I'll also continue to give updates as to the status of my techskin, for those who are curious about buying one, or even researching alternatives. So far so good *crosses fingers*

Update: All bubbles are gone!
Hopefully this helps anyone who might be searching through forums (like I was), trying to find someone who had installed a techskin/IS alternative.

Worth the 11 bucks IMO.

Installed pics:

And an example of the slight orange peel effect:

Well...here's why one should get a techskin:

1) holds up very well, edges don't peel
2) doesn't turn yellow
3) only if they are keeping it in a purse or sleeve/pouch within the pocket.

Why one shouldn't get one:

1) turns BLUE if you are constantly leaving it inside your jeans
2) if you ignore #3 AND have a white iphone.

Bottom line: If you have a black iphone (doesn't matter how you treat it), OR a white iphone (but keep it in a pouch/purse), get this skin.

If you have a white iphone that you just throw in your pockets all the time, don't get it.

My levi 501 jean pockets have never rubbed off onto my white iphone. I have always kept it screen facing leg. I have used an IS and BSE and had it naked for the longest time.

Is it a just a special thing with this skin.

No clue, I wear seven jeans, and the pockets themselves are blue, are yours white?

I have seen a lot of color staining on the IS from other people on the internet (such as itsmemorphiuos on youtube, regarding his brown folio and other people on modmyi.com), so I don't think it's a special thing with this skin. I haven't seen much about the BSE though.

I was pretty disappointed with my IS. Luckily I had some gift certificates to burn at BB and I only paid like 6 bucks for it. After about a week, the edges began to peel back, and after about two weeks, the entire skin was discolored, really took away from the beauty of the phone. I swapped to an Otterbox defender and couldn't be happier.

However, for those of us that don't wear jeans (myself) this could have been an excellent alternative.

I'll vouch for the wrapsol; I've had mine on for a couple weeks (also use a Griffin reveal w/ a BSE simple back on it...yeah I know, crazy to use a skin on a case..). I LOVE the matte finish of the wrapsol.
