Here is a little bit about myself.
I'm a recent college grad turned working stiff. Sadly, the only Apple product I really had to use during college was my iPod Nano, but I still love it -- the Nano was put to use every day once I started riding the bus to campus. I didn't get my MacBook until this past xmas, but I had already graduated early a few weeks prior. Thus, my MacBook hasn't been all that useful, except when I want to sit in my living room watching TV and surfing the web at the same time. This is possible thanks to my Apple AirPort

Hopefully I'll be going back to law school in about a year, where I'll get much more use out of my MacBook.
I discovered and starting browsing through EIC only a few weeks before the WWDC, but I have been trolling these forums ever since. Sadly, I didn't jump on the iPhone bandwagon until a few months ago.
I'm not sure what exactly started my iPhone obsession, but I am definitely obsessed at this point. The iPhone came out not even a full year into my two-year Verizon contract. I, like most other people, did not grasp at first what kind of an impact the iPhone would have on the mobile phone industry. My best friend got an iPhone out of nowhere right after the initial price drop -- he hadn't been talking about it, and really didn't know much about how awesome it was, either. Even after he'd had it for a while -- even though I knew him to be a pessimist who is at best skeptical of all things if not downright negative, yet loved his iPhone -- I still never really took that much of an interest in the iPhone.
Lately, though, there have been a few factors. For one thing, I've just gotten more "into" Apple products in general. I'm starting to get very tired of my Moto Razr. I notice so many other people who have e-mail on their phones -- even non-business-type people have Blackberrys these days -- and wish I had it. My contract with Verizon will end soon. Most of all, I have started to become very aware whenever I am in a situation where I do not have access to the internet but would very much like to have it. This has happened a few times lately. For example, I went to the beach a few weeks ago, and though I brought my MacBook, I never got on the internet because I didn't want to pay the hotel $10 just to use internet for one night. It would have been very nice to have internet that night, as I wasn't too sure where everything was in relation to me, nor did I know of any good restaurants in the area. Luckily, I called some people who did know some good places to eat, but it would have been so much easier to find a place on my own had I an iPhone.
Anyway, since I've only been very interested in purchasing an iPhone in the last few months, I knew that a new 3G version of the iPhone would be coming out soon. Thus, I just waited. I didn't know whether the new one would be more or less expensive, I just knew that it would in fact be new and, in all likelihood, better; when the choice is between getting a new piece of technology the day it comes out or buying old technology that's been around for a year, it's usually a no-brainer. While I feel like the iPhone 3G isn't necessarily a HUGE step-up from the v1, I still think it's an improvement and cannot wait to buy one.
My contract with Verizon expires July 6th, so the timing of the iPhone 3G could harly be better for me. I cannot wait to pick one up for myself and never have to go another minute without the internet.
Sorry for the wall of text above. All I really want to do is introduce myself and say hello to everyone at EIC
