I installed Snow Leopard on mine when I got home from Best Buy. The disc was in the box and the only difference I've seen is that I got an extra 10-15 gigs free on my hard drive. I only had the computer for like 1 hour before I installed Snow so I have no idea what the difference is. I'm saying this because maybe you have Snow on it and you just can't tell. Maybe someone can tell you where to look to see if Snow is installed.

I have the demo version that apple send's to there retail store's on my computer I bought the last model they had and it was a "floor" model the guy told me they just put it out about 2-3 weeks ago so it hasn't been sitting there long so its got all this bull**** on it and it wont even let me download anything using this software that's on it gives me an error code every time. So the store manager at best buy gave me a copy of snow leopard I have the actually install dvd its legit from apple and everything I just need to know once I have already installed how do I "run" or "boot" snow leopard? I don't understand I wish someone with a little more knowledge would chime in ......

What I am saying is I have downloaded the snow leopard and installed but once I restart the computer it doesn't load or boot snow leopard it brings me back to this stupid demo crap! I would like to setup my computer up as if it were a new computer using snow leopard. Anyone?

Best I can tell is that if you've installed it it boots it. Click on the Apple in upper left hand corner and click on 'About this Mac' then 'More Info' then 'Software' if it says version 10.6.1 then that's Snow.

If you installed snow leopard then you have it installed. It overwrites leopard. Its a new OS. Unless you somehow partitioned your drive and installed it on a separate partition, you should be using it. How long have you had your computer?

You edited while I was writing. Now I understand what you are saying. Do you have any other discs besides the Snow disc? Mine came with Leopard 10.5 disc and also an application disc. So for me I would reinstall the Leopard 10.5 disc first, then the app disc, and then the Snow disc in that order.

No I bought from BestBuy and they could not find the original disk that came with the computer. Thats why he gave me snow. He told me to just run snow and that it would set up as a new computer. simple hhuh?
