Exclamation Help, imac flashing ? At startup

can somone help me, i update my imac with the new update, everything was fine, then i turn off my computer for the night,and the next day i try to turn it on, and all i get is a flashing ? if anyone here know how to fix this problem please help me, i try to put the install dvd in and do a repair with no luck.help, help,help

How new is it? If it's still under the original 1-year warranty, you might be best off getting it looked at at an Apple store.

Try pressing and holing the power button until you hear a beeping sound. Doing that causes a reset, it should help your problem. You might just need a fresh mount of the software.. Mark

Hey guys, thanks for the help, but i tried everything and i could not get it, and i did not have anything backed up so i had to make a very hard decision, plus my warranty is up. so i had to erase everything and start over,That SUCK but at least now my mac is running like it should and yes i bought an external hard drive
