Default Aggravated and disappointed.

Just bought this new iMac this past weekend and so far I am loving it very much! I just have one small problem after I download or open a program like photo shop, aperture, ms word, etc or after I do a series of downloads (example 5 albums) my computer will act really sluggish it is doing it right now for some reason. Like the computer can't even keep up as fast as I am typing it has like a 5 second LAG! WTF? Is there anything I can do to fix the problem? I mean clearing the cache wouldn't do much since its a brand new computer there would not be much there correct? I need some help anyone with a mac please help!

I have the worst luck.

Sorry I haven't noticed any of this on my 20 iMac. I did some heavy downloading right after I got home.

Cool, it was probably just a glitch. Keep a log of that call like date, time, and rep's name so that any more problems occur and you'll have more support incase you got a lemon!

Like a windows pc, try a reboot. That helps much of the time, whether on a mac or pc.

I've seen this same problem described by many people with new iMacs.

Wow and to think I was a little upset that I bought the 20" a month before the new line came out. I have had no problems with this machine! It runs so much better than the quad core with 8GB ram running Vista that I sold to get my iMac! I just hate that I waiting so long before going to Mac.

It could be a weird software thing that Apple is working to correct. I've had my 24 inch iMac for about 7 months now and haven't noticed many problems at all. Hopefully doing what Apple suggested will prevent you from needing a restore.

The problem seems to be with their newly released line of 21.5 & 27 inch models and not the older line that you and I have.
