Will this work?

Hi all, was just wondering. I am in the UK on an O2 contract.

If I take out the sim card in my iphone, will it work in another handset, like a nokia? If it will, will O2 block the sim?

I know that normal sim cards can be switched between any unlocked phone. However, I'm not sure if the sim card in the iPhone is specific to a device. O2 wont be able to know what device your using though. I used the same sim for around 3 years, just kept switching to unlocked phones if I wanted a new one.
