Is anything plugged into the iPhone when you get that message?

There were other forum members with similar problems. They took it to the genius bar at the apple store, and they replaced their phones free.

I don't want to return the phone because I plan to buy the new 3G when it comes out in July. Maybe I can last until then. I thought that maybe, I had something turned on.
Thanks

Try a Restore in iTunes. If that doesn't fix it, just take it to Apple - you'll still be able to get 3G if they look at it.

By the way, welcome to the forums.

Mine started doing this when I put it on the charging stand. Everything else seems normal except for dramatically shorter battery life.

The dock can be shorted out easily with all those pins in such a confined space. It will get worse, so it's something you should take back to apple under warranty if you can.

I got the same message but that was when I tried plugging it into an iPod docking speaker system.
