I use my iphone at work all the time... but it has nothing to do with my job..
Wait I am wrong I write my schedule down in the calender and sometimes take notes on the yellow notepad...
Most of the time I am taking pics of stuff at work, and checking travian and my fantasy baseball team
Working at a studio, I find the multimedia stuff very useful. The computers we use are on the internet, but safari cannot access the audio hardware that's actually routed to the speakers (Pro Tools HD) so if I need to look up a song as a mix reference, I'm seeqpodding on the iPhone. Clients freak out when I stream the song in question within seconds of them bringing it up. "So you want the strings to sound like this, then?" I've already carved away the 1/8" plug to the aux in jack on our monitoring system, so A/B'ing with the iPhone is easy.
Lately, I've been completely justifying my jailbreak by using Pianist to find target notes while tuning vocals (yes, we do that a lot as you may or may not know). I also use it to give guide tones to vocalists when doing harmonies. Hearing that note ring out on a piano somehow works like magic for them. And it's always there. Love it.
I also take pictures of gear for mix recalls .... showing me where the dials are. I then email them to myself, retrieve them on the computer (I don't bother with iTunesing with my phone at work), and save them to the session folder. Easier than writing down the position of all those knobs.
One other big thing is it's kept me from buying a laptop. That's huge, considering how much a computer geek I've always been. I don't even want one right now.
