Question Transfer Lines from T-Mobile at Costco and then add iPhone??

I'm going to be transferring a couple lines to AT&T and I saw that costco.com are waiving activation fee for each line I get with free accessories. After I get these lines transfered. Can I add a new line and get the iPhone for $199/$299? Sorry if this does not belong here.

Sure. Once you have an AT&T account you can go get an iPhone as an additional line.

Cool. So it's just 2 Year commitment and not New account activation? So $199 sounds good but don't like the thing about paying the tax on the unsubsidized price.

Only reason why I would add a line for the iPhone is because of waiving of the activation fee. With that, I can't port my current number right? Or when I cancel T-Mobile will it be available until someone gets it?
