Agreed. I have to drive an hour to get to the closest Apple store (one wont open in my city until mid November), but I am always pleased with the service I recieve so it never seems like a big deal to me. Hopefully your future experiences with Apple are positive.

It's a good thing being at an Apple store is usually such a pleasant, even fun experience for me, otherwise I would be sick of going in there to replace my iPhone.

And therein lies the single biggest problem with this country.

Only things that will get added to the total is additional court and legal fees from Apple not paying after my first request for payment.

Haha... Oh man I totally remember that. Two girls in New York or something along those lines? Yeah kid, Ronald McDonald was sitting there for three years stuffing hamburgers down your throat, wasn't he?!

Morons...

That coffee scalding lawsuit set a very unfortunate precedent. It basically taught people that they don't have to accept responsibility for their own stupidity or condition anymore. Furthermore that they can take money from the defendant far beyond anything they might actually be entitled to had they been right to sue in the first place. Ever since, I think Moore's law began applying to the frivolity of lawsuits - every 18 months, it doubles. (or whatever that was)

I'm glad there are still some people around like the OP that file for the right reasons and only seek what they rightfully should, not what they want or could get. Keeps my faith in humanity up.

(Now if only we can get rid of all lawyers...)

Update:

Got the judgment in the mail from the courts over a month ago and sent a copy of it to Apple. Still no response from them. They even missed out on there chance to appeal to get the case moved to district court. Am gonna give them another chance before we file again in court for the non-payment.

Sending this to them tomorrow.

Quote:
Apple Inc.
Legal Department
1 Infinite Way
Cupertino, CA 95014

Dear Sir:

Please find enclosed a copy of a civil judgment entered against Apple Inc. in the case Plaintiff's vs. Apple Inc. (Dakota County Conciliation Court Case ##-#######). This was a default judgment and it is now final.

Please advise your intentions as to making full payment to me to resolve this judgment. If full payment is not made by June 25, 2008, I will file a motion in District Court to collect this judgment.

Minnesota Law provides for the Sheriff to seize property located in the State to satisfy a legal judgment. Your corporation maintains assets and inventory at the Apple Store located at Mall of America. I will file the proper motion with the court to compel such a seizure if the judgment is not paid

I am sure you will not want the adverse publicity and embarrassment associated with a Sheriff’s seizure of property at your store and will pay the judgment as ordered by the court in this case.

Sincerely,
