Is there a way to install quicktime on the iphone 3G?

Yep, support for Quicktime is built in. If it can't play a particular Quicktime video, it's either too high a resolution or bitrate. (e.g. certain podcasts I have in iTunes will not sync over, like HD versions)

I can't open a QuickTime file from me email. Any hints ? Thanks for the help.

I think I have an answer to your question as this has bothered me for months not only with quick time files but with any supported media file. Here are the results of a test I ran:

When a supported audio or video file was emailed to me as a forward I would see at the bottom of the email a massage that said something like "the way this message was formated it can not be viwed by the iphone" or the file would come over as a "mime" file which can not be opened. However when I get files sent to me from the orginal sender (not a forward) they work fine.

Now if anyone has the answer why, that would be great.
