It sure is interesting news. The article says that the software would permit movies to be pushed to the iPhone. I'm assuming that would mean transferring the video so you can watch the movie whereever you are. Not sure about the logistics of that, including whether you could actually have enough storage capacity for a HD movie.
Besides, the iPhone display is not HD. What benefit would there be to this device other than as a remote?

I was thinking the same thing Eragon. HD movies are notoriously large files so you would be able to have 1 or 2 on the phone at a time, not much of a selection if you're going anywhere for an extended period. The display also lacks HD so I don't see how Blu-Ray movies would be beneficial on the iPhone.
