problems with talking on the phone

my phone doesnt work unless I'm using speakphone. It calls and receives calls but I can't hear the person I'm talking to and they can't hear me unless I use the speakerphone, this just recently happened on Saturday after it had been working fine that morning. I tried restoring it but it did nothing. Has anyone had the same problem?

Had you recently been using the headphones? Try plugging them in and out a few times.

Yea actually, and you are a life saver I thought I was screwed because I took it to apple and they had no idea. From now on I'm going to post my problems on here before going to apple.

I'm glad that you solved the problem. Don't be too hard on the Apple guys, collectively more problems have probably been discussed here then they have ever seen

I'm having the same problem and still the sound coming from the "ear section," not the earplugs is very low, even when turned up all the way. Am I stuck using the ear-buds or wimpy speaker phone?
