iphone bad url message

hi all
i have an iphone 3g which i jailbroke on 2.0.1
i have just recently updated it to 3.0.1
and had to re jailbreak it which was harder than the first time
my problem is that when i try to download anything from either cydia or instalous i get an error message something about url not being recognised or something i also lost all my apps from last instalation even the ones saved to i tunes they still on itunes but cant be downloaded to iphone
can anyone help me

I'd seriously suggest posting the exact error message. At least we'll have a better idea of the issue.

Without more information the only advice I could give would be to restore and re-jailbreak. Make sure that if there is a cydia upgrade that you upgrade it. I always do a full upgrade, rather than "upgrade essential"
