Gmail Push Not Working

As of yesterday and through today, push email doesn't seem to be working for me. I've deleted and re-added my account several times. I'm on a 3GS, non-jailbroken/non-unlocked.

IMAP gmail works just fine, push via their Exchange setup does not. Is anyone else having this problem lately?

My gmail push has been touch and go the last few days but it seems to be working for me now. Sometimes it has some hiccups.

Just wanna ask some basic things, is that really a "push" email. Because I think it just a "pull" mechanism that automatically pull every certain time, but CMIIW.
Anyway I can find Introduction thread here, is there any?

Introduction section near the bottom of the main forum page...or you can click forum jump at the bottom of any thread and see all the sections listed.

When did Gmail get Push, i've had my phone for like 6 months and its never pushed it to my phone, it only gets my new emails when i open email app....

A few months ago, IIRC.

You have to set up your gmail account as an exchange account for it to work.

There is a thread on here that discussed it, and Google has a site dedicated to Gsync for the iPhone.

That's what I had to do is use Microsoft Exchange and use m.google.com for it to work on my iPhone. All my emails are coming faster than ever
