Frustrated, how do I rectify - two iphones - started using the same itunes apple id?

My wife and I both purchased iPhones. I had always been using an apple id to purchase things from itunes on my mac. I went to purchase an iphone application with this same id on my wife's iphone (and a free application - evernote - as well using the same id.)

Things seemed fine for a while. I was running apps I purchased on my iphone and the two apps were running fine on her phone.

Today, I finally got around to performing the last iphone update for my wife's phone. After the update, however, when I try to sync it keeps popping up a message "The application "Informant" was not installed on the IPhone [wife name] because you are not authorized for it on this computer."

How do I avoid this? Worst case I don't mind repurchasing the app I bought for her (Informant) but I'm not even sure how to resolve this. I can't even get free apps (Evernote) to install now. I've gone to the itunes store and logged in with the account and it's also the same account that I see set up on her iphone when I look at the store settings.

I'm stumped. I figure I screwed up trying to use the same id on both iphones, but how do I fix things. Even so, it's stupid though that I was able to install the app and have it work fine, but after an update it's not. Now I might be suck buying the app twice.

I ended up making a brand new itunes account on the wife's computer and repurchased the app on her account on her mac and now all is fine (other than me being out 13 bucks
