We do have an unofficial chatroom in IRC. Info is in my signature. But yes, an integrated board chat would be most welcome.

I think blogs have a usefulness as a way to just stream conciousness or to describe in detail a use or feature or example of something. They are just another tool. For those who think the forums are enough, think about some of the longer posts you haver read and how hard it can be to find what you are looking for - the blog could be the way to go get that detail.

Just a thought... from a former blogger...

i think this might be a neat addition.

i would seldom use it, but it would be a good place to post our pictures taken day to day with the iPhone, and share a few iPhone related experiences. Nothing that we can't already do in the off topic section but still not a bad idea.
