Botched iPod Video fix!

A while back, I fell over with my iPod Video in my pocket and landed on a bench, creating a huge dent in the back of the iPod (and my leg). On closer inspection the iPod's hard disk wasn't turning because it had a dent in it. It either constantly restarted after making all manner of grating noises or showed me a sad ipod icon. Well yesterday I decided to see if I could get the dent out of the HD to see what happened if I tried to boot it. So I took the hard disk out and stuck a penknife in between the two parts of the casing into the side of the hard disk and pushed the dent out from inside. I then attempted to reboot the pod, and through some incredible coincidence it actually WORKED!!! All my videos pictures and music fully intact!! Only thing now is the battery doesn't work (at all) but they're cheap enough to buy!!!!
