Default best hotel site

What's the best hotel website. I mean cheapest rooms, pics, whatever.

If you are a fed, military or state government employee, there is fedrooms.com.

If you can handle backpack-style traveling, Hostel World is a real good resource:

I like to start with expedia because they have virtual tours and reviews from people who have stayed at the place you are looking. The reviews are especially helpful if you are going to be staying at one place for a week or so. From there I go the the website of the place I am looking at to see if their rates are better or maybe running specials.

Also, if you want to research your trip before booking, fodors.com is a great resource as it will give you info on hotels, restaurants, entertainment, etc. If you navigate to their forums, you can narrow down the city or country you're visiting and read others' reviews who have actully been there.
Tripadvisor.com is another site that has reviews and ratings by people who have stayed in the hotels along with pics and booking options. I usually research the location first to narrow down which hotel I want to book, and then hunt for the best price.

I always cross reference with tripadvisor.com before booking. It's always given me a pretty good set of user reviews.
