Battery Drain: usage = standby time - iPhone 3G

I have had my iphone for 3mo....I did a full charge with no use intially except to activate

I only charge once battery bar is less 25% or I get message battery is low..I generally at first chargeds via usb or in my car
The battery started barely lasting one day

I do not use it as an iPod, I check email but mostly it is my phone and used for when i am on on call to receive txt(I use maybe 70 txts a month)

So I started to charge via wall socket overnight...and my battery would last basically ~2.5-3d on standby with my normal use

Well this week, I am getting maybe 30hrs of use before needing a charge again....I maybe use the phone 30min talk, check email some..

FYI..in 3mo my total call time is 19.5 hrs with 17mg sent and 195mg received on EDGE(most of the 195mg occured in block as 100mg about 4 days ago and not sure why, it had been to that point at 96mg received)

I long along turned off push yahoo email, I have screen brightness very low

The last 2 charges my standby and usage times are equal(used to be like 2-3hrs on usage and standby would be 2-3days from last charge)

It seems something is running the battery down and i am at a loss

any help would be great

Check Settings> General> Auto-lock, and verify the setting. I usually set mine at 1 minute.

Thanks great idea but I have that set that way

I deleted my yahoo email acct, which had push email off...created a new one and right now it seems back to normal....I guess somehow, my email was trying to connect all the time??? even though it was "off"???

WOW 30 hours of usage!!!"!"!?!?!?

that is good... i'm at like 2.5 hours of usage and 2 days and 9 hours of stand by and it is half way done already....

I think something is wrong with your phone. Im getting similar results as the OP.

please remember everythign was hosed..I did not really have 30hrs of real use...

It seems deleting that yahoo acct made a big difference, I setup again exactly the same and issue seems better so far

Yeah... I'm thinking something is probably wrong with my phone.. if you guys are roughly getting around 30 hours of usage with 1 full charge of the phone
