That was speculated only to match the 16GB announcement this past January. If a 32GB iPhone were to come out in January, I'd think the announcement would come in the next few months, if not already.
The article is interesting but nothing more than speculating on how Apple can get more iPhones into people's hands. I don't like the idea of the stripped down iPhone (some people thought the recent iPod Nano announcement was going to be an iPhone Nano announcement

I'm going with my theory that there will be some uber-iPhone coming out next year (probably summer or later), and the current 3G line will be the base set. This uber-iPhone would include the voice recognition hardware that
Apple recently filed a patent for. That would also be a great time to dump the 8GB iPhone and make the 16GB the minimum. Obviously, the uber-iPhone would have the 32GB capacity.
But that's just one man's opinion...
