3.56GB worth of 'Other'?????

Wasn't really sure where to put this.

But as i went to sync a new song to my iPhone, I noticed there is 3.56GB worth of 'Other'. What the hell is that, its never said that before. I have the audio, video and photos, fair enough, but where/what the hell is this other? It is literally half of my capacity bar, leaving me now with 112MB :/

You might try a restore but are you jailbroken?

Are you on 1.1.3 or 1.1.4? I know that upgrading to 1.1.4 fixed the "other" issue for a lot of people. What sort of applications have you put on using Installer? Any?

It is 1.1.4 and it is NOT jailbroken. NOTHING has been added, i have only done the official apple upgrades.

Did you ever have to cancel a sync while transferring a large movie? Sometimes movies can get "lost" to the iPod and appear as "other" in iTunes. Unfortunately, without being jailbroken, the only remedy I know of is to restore.

But won't that delete all my text messages and photos and stuff?

Try resyncing but do not sync any video. Just sync your songs and contact info. It might erase the Other if video is the culprit.

if you erased a video from the phone by swiping and deleting, the videos often don't go away.

restore, and then restore from backup.

Nope, didn't swipe and delete.

Just unsynced all of my videos and its all still there.

Very annoying, it's half my bar :@

Don't wanna do a restore because that means i'll lose all my texts and stuff.

Or you can restore, then choose to restore from backup, which would have all your texts and stuff
