Default $1 D.I.Y. "tripod"

I saw this video and was simply impressed and felt I needed to share it. I haven't tried it, but it seems this could be easily adapted to the iPhone by using a hook sort of device (bent coat hanger?) instead of of a screw. Anyway, hope you find it useful... I'm definitely gonna try it!

Iphonian, you especially should appreciate this

This is especially important with the iPhone camera in low-light conditions, as the exposure time is very long without a flash. This should help a lot.

For those viewing on the iPhone and unable to view the video:

1. Cut a piece of string the length from the ground to your eye.
2. Tie one end to a device to attach to your camera (in the video, it's a screw to go into the tripod attachment on all cameras. For the iPhone, I would use a hook of some sort to hang on the top of the phone)
3. Tie the other end to a washer.

To use, step on the washer, attach the other end on your camera (phone), and take a picture with the added stabilization of the taught string.

I love this idea. Not mine. But enjoy.

Well I consider myself to have a pretty steady hand, but I always get better results when braced against something. Maybe I'm just anal.

Yea, this is just a home made monopod. Photo magazines have had articles on this for a long time.

Wasn't ragging on your post. There are probably alot that will use this for their cameras. I was going to when I first saw it in a magazine, but got a good deal on a monopod.
