This is a discussion on Wish List items...is there a thread ? within the Future iPhones forums, part of the Apple iPhone category; Wow it would be nice if my 3gs had the option to go out to months and years on event ...
Wow it would be nice if my 3gs had the option to go out to months and years on event reminders and had a snooze option. That really seems to be the only thing I am missing from the windows mobile OS.
A lot of my scheduling goes out way in advance and require much more than a 2 week heads up. IMHO setting placebo events is a bogus work-around.
Also..a snooze on reminders of variable lengths...
I do love my 3gs.
Is there a wish list page somewhere
(actually is this a jail breakable thing ?...I need to ask over in the other forums)

You can surely schedule further out than 2 weeks using Google calendar or with iCal & MobileMe since you sync with both.
YMMV
From the phone?
I would be looking to do it from the phone on to my exchange acct at work.

The Exchange account can only set for a single email account at a time. I have mine set for my contacts & calendar and use IMAP for 2 of my Gmail accounts & 2 Yahoo accounts since I only get 10 or so a typical day.
YMMV
Maybe I'm missing something.
I'm trying to set event reminders on my phone to my exchange calendar with event reminders about a year or so out down to amount 4-6 weeks out.
Alternate accts aren't an option for me.
Does jail breaking handle this ?

OK, you need to be able sync your work exchange account. I was never able to do that at work due to security restrictions. I was speaking of the way I sync, schedule, and mail using Google & Yahoo. I have much more flexibility using these tools. Outlook could likely work on a home or work machine but, once again, I was not permitted to use/sync my work account with my home account or computers so someone else will have to offer you that sort of advice.
