why is it called 3g iPhone?
k this might sound dumb but bare with me. Why is everyone calling it the 3g iPhone? Because it has 3g speeds or cause its generation 3 iPhone (which it can't be since this will be the second one)

Well the new iPhone MIGHT be called iPhone 2. The fact is that no one knows for sure what it will be called and it's just easier to refer to it as the new, 3G iPhone.

Technically, it should be 2G iPhone for Second Generation, but everyone is calling it the 3G iPhone because of the 3G network capabilities it's supposed to have. Maybe iPhone 2G would be better.

maybe because one of the main things setting the new iphone apart from the old one is that it supports 3g.
