That the current iPhone has a dormant 3g chip that simply needs to be activated?

Torn between now and later (Iphone 2). I know there is a thread on now or later, more curious about the dormant 3g chip.

This question comes up a lot and a search would have told you what I'm going to tell you... not a chance there is a "secret" 3G chip inside the current iPhone. Tons of people have taken it apart and found out what chipset is in it and it doesn't do 3G.
