My iPhone has manual zoom.....I think yours might have that as well. Just walk a little closer or further away from whatever you are taking a picture of....and voila! Manual zoom!

Default Tethering?

My main gripe is not having tethering....I just ordered the iphone and am looking forward to getting it. But I would really like to be able to tether like I do with my treo 700wx. Has anyone heard if they are going to ever add this?

All digital zoom is doing is lower the pixel count to make the image appear bigger.

Just take a picture without zoom, then go into your pictures, zoom in on the iPhone and take a screenshot. It will be the same thing as from taking the picture with digital zoom.

MMS. It may be dying, but it's still very popular. Yes, you can email the photo, but I think the vast majority of cell phone users can't/don't do email with their mobile. I was quite surprised when I found out it couldn't do this.

Being able to send a contact to someone as a vcard attachment in an email.

Being able to click a phone number or email address in SMS or email and have it update an existing (or create new) contact. I think one of those might be supported in SMS. Friends send me updated contact information in emails all the time. It currently asks if you want to call a number you click, would be easy to add an extra option there - save to contact.

You can turn off the SMS Preview, just go to "settings", "General" then "Passcode Lock" it will be the last option on the page entitled "Show SMS Preview" with an on/off slider. I'm not sure if this is new to 2.0, but I never noticed it until I installed the update.

Later, Dan
