On the front page here.
A Hong Kong site is claiming to have had access to the 3rd-generation iPhone and has posted the following pictures showing the camera's new auto-focus feature, the digital compass application, and more.

I don't know about that. Everything seen is all software related so we really cant be sure of anything based off of that.
Yeah, and what's with the metal band in the second picture. I hope its not the new phone because the metal band is kinda lame.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure this is not the new iphone because if you look at more images on the site, the phone was jailbroken (it has the %battery in the top) and as far as I know, you can't get that yet. I would think that it is just the final release of the 3.0 software and they somehow got a hold of it.

Actually, battery percentage is available in 3.0 - it's mentioned in this Ars Technica article here. I'm not sure if it will be activated in the final 3.0 firmware, but developers can access it.
Like I said. Phones never been jailbroke before. My old one was. Had it replaced for battery problems and restored my new one from that backup. Had the % since the first beta. Maybe something in the backup from the old jailbreak.

Yeah it stinks they didn't get a photo of the physical unit. We've been able to see the software for a while now. Ugh. Still cool though.

Someone on macrumors said "It's the new machine in the old enclosure. A safety measure by Apple, it can be field-tested without the danger of it being spotted as "the new iPhone"." which is smart of them and would make sense, but sucks for us. To me it looks like the current 3g, and I don't know what you mean by the metal band, cause it looks like the chrome bezel that we currently have.
