Here are a few more specs released:

According to the guys over at AnandTech, the iPhone 3GS uses a 32-bit ARM Cortex A8 RISC processor which is the same processor that is used in the Palm Pre.

The 3GS also features an improved graphics processor in the form of a PowerVR SGX 520, we wont know until the launch of the 3GS what the exact specifications are, and what other components have been upgraded over the 3G.

Surprisingly the iphone screen resists scratches so much better than any other phone because of the high quality glass. I still prefer to use an anti glare screen which resists fingerprints 99.9% of the time and it helps when in the sun so you can see the screen. I also like the way when playing games or scrolling with the anti glare where your finger doesn't get slowed down from the oils and whatnot.

Great news here, 3GS visuals to surpass PSP
One of the reasons I decided to go with the iPhone. I love gaming.

Why in the world would they change it by the 19th after they just announced it having the same casing.

It is not certain if Apple changed its plans, but then again they could still make it on to the new iPhone. We will all find out on June 19.

I highly doubt Apple will change it. That is uncharacteristic of Apple. A matte backing would have been a major cosmetic change they would have promoted at the Keynote. This is just speculation on the part of the article's author. It is interesting though as to why Apple may have changed their minds and stayed with the original case.

Yeah, it's more likely they just tried out several case ideas, but decided to keep it the same in the end for whatever reason (economics? excess stock?)
