electronic artist Deadmau5, developed by an Irish company called Future Audio Workshop. It lets anyone with an iPhone, regardless of their level of experience, mix and remix every song in the album. This is only the first step: The company plans to apply the same approach to several other electronica albums as well.
Thoughts? I find this very intriguing. The iPhone could lead the way for albums being distributed in multitrack, perhaps yielding a new standard in audio delivery formats?
Dave this is really exciting when you think of the potential In addition the music industry has really been slow to adept to the distribution of their product resulting in significant loss of revenue due to piracy. Instead of being innovative they sought to be restrictive and shot themselves in the foot or higher. If they can adept faster and make it easier, less expensive and more innovative for the consumer to buy their product then to 'pirate' it they may be able to stem their revenue loss.

Any value-added service like this will help sales to some degree. Obviously, it's not uncrackable (like any digital medium), but significantly more annoying to crack and distribute than standard audio, which should make it attractive to the labels.
The merging of the iTunes music and apps divisions. I love it.
