iPhone should automatically unlock when a call comes in so you can instantly see who or what number is calling ...... instead of going thru the laborious task of manually unlocking the phone first. lolol .... just kidding.

(just my opinion)

The ability to turn off auto correct and/or add your own words in the dictionary. I know people may have already asked for this but I cant stress how important this is to me. Not all words are being "stored" by the iphone and it makes texting so difficult. I shorten all my text as much as possible for obvious reasons.

Default Slider Control

It has a slider control. In the vertical position where you see the album cover -tap the screen once and the slider appears along with a random select and repeat select. Hope this is what you are referring to. It is not available on the cover flow (horizontal view).

This was among my favorite little things about my previous phone - a Nokia 6682. I could lock the keypad and could still answer a call normally should it ring. End the call and the keypad remained locked. That and the 3rd party user-independent voice-dialing app I used are two of the major things I'm missing from my mobile phone experience with the iPhone.

It really does make perfect sense (doesn't it?) If your phone is in "sleep" mode or locked .... if a call comes in - let me decide to answer or send to voice mail without unlocking.

Voice dialing where you could use your stock headset to make the call.

It appears in the audio feature as well. While the song is playing, tap the album art once with your finger and a slider will appear under the music title bar (artist name, back button, song title). You can then silde to any point in the track. Tapping the screen again hides the slider bar.

Personally, I'd love to see an alternative scrubbing method implemented. Particularly in longer videos, scrubbing using that slider is very imprecise and doesn't allow you to see what point you've arrived at until you stop and lift off your finger - it's damn near impossible to find the spot you want.

What I'd like to see is the ability to scrub back and forth using a circular motion on the touchscreen glass (akin to the hardware knob on video editing equipment). Of course, the way I'm picturing this is that I'd be able to actually see the video going backward or forward and control the rate with the speed of the touchscreen motion.

That would rock.

Then again, I'm perfectly happy to place this feature request on the back burner if Apple would just get voice-dialing and a few other things implemented in the meantime.

Default Better searching of contacts

I would like to see a better seach function to find contacts. Right now if I don't remember their last name I can't find them. On my Blackberry I liked the fact I could type a portion of the company, their title anything and it would find it. similar to the Address Book function on my MAC. I gues I have too many contact but this would really help me.
