I am hoping 2.0 means update and not 2nd generation??. I love gps capabilties and feel it is long over due in smart phones.
2.0 means 2nd gen. Features like GPS and 3G require hardware in the phone that can not be added with an update. There is still hope for GPS in version 1, but it will require a separate bluetooth GPS receiver. Until the iPhone is opened to 3rd party apps (not web apps), GPS support is unlikely.

Lightbulb

What about having a projector bulit in that can be project on the wall around 14 inches to 20 inches. That would be cool! Use it for surfing and movies would be fantastic!

Something like this : LCD Cell Phone Projector

* The iPod application includes a handy volume control slider, but does not appear to include a method for changing the playing location of the current audio track (rewind/fast-forward/jump to point). This feature does appear in the video player.
* GPS with integration into Google Maps
* Use the built in camera to record video.
* Push email from Google. Not totally in Apple's control because Google does not currently offer IMAP. When/if Google adds this feature it would be nice to know that the phone will support it.
* Steve pointed out that iPhone parses phone numbers in email messages, how about parsing street addresses with a magical import into Google Maps?
* Support for multiple email accounts. This feature may already be present, I can't tell from the demos. These days people have many email accounts including work and one or more Gmail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail accounts.
* Display Favicon.ico (the little icon/logo next to the site address in most browsers) image on the bookmarks screen and the change page screen.
* Flash videos supported: At present, iPhone seems only supports mp4, h.264, mp3, aac. If it supports Flash files, iPhone will be more popular. Flash is working its way into all of todays popular sites (YouTube, MySpace, Google Talk (web), Yahoo! Messenger (web), etc)
* Third-party software: The list of applications available for Windows Mobile and Palm is huge! I am sure many of the Mac developers out there would love the opportunity to develop/sell applications that run on the iPhone like games, video conversion, DVD to iPhone software, music data recovery, media editor, etc.
* There has been some rumors of an Apple developed spreadsheet application for Mac. It would be nice if there was a mini-spreadsheet program for viewing/editing simple spreadsheets. The same thing goes for Word documents (as you might guess Microsoft makes mini-versions of these applications available on their phone OS).
i just read the whole user guide in the last 20 min. a lot of these features are already in there

Lyrics, I want my lyrics please, Steve Jobs.

Also, a bigger hard drive, my iPhone is already filled to capacity as I use it now to replace my iPod.

Default My fairly small list

I think the following should be added:

1. Finder integration (i want to browse the filesystem)
2. Have ability to receive data via Bluetooth, not just for headset
3. Video capture
4. Flash player and AIR (to support adobe's flex)
5. Ability to send multiple image attachments in an email
6. Custom ringtones
7. Native Games (just like the iPod games)
8. Ability to create and edit the Word and Excel documents. Or at least hook me up with a word processor.
9. Support for streaming mp3 content (online radio)

I agree with this list. I want 3g the most.

3.At least a 5.0MP video recorder that record up to 30fps. In this day of age, it's important to have a video recorder now...look at what they capture on Saddam and the Virginia Tech. Apple need to take into consideration that this is a highly requested feature on a mobile phone. Don't just give us a cheap one either...come out w/ the BEST in the market.
4. Support all kinds of video formats...flash divx wmv...ect. I have another question...does the browser support these formats as well?? i don't think so. It'll be nice that you can download video and mp3 directly in the cellphone.
5.Does it support AIM, MSM messenger?? These are MUST HAVE as well!! If i can run browser on my cellphone, WHY can't i run AIM as well?? Afterall, i am using my Wifi internet...i just need the software...which are already FREE everywhere.

1. Ability to send a PIX message directly (not an email with picture attachment). Ability to receive PIX message as well (not just email with picture attachment).

2. Ability to check TXT or PIX message delivery status (whether the message was received successfully by the other end, or not...time sent/received, etc.)

3. Ability to be on phone call AND use internet features via EDGE simultaneously.

4. Ability to detect "open" WiFi hot spots and present only those to join. Also add 802.11N.

5. Two-way syncing of PHOTOS. New photos taken on iPhone would download to computer, just as selected photos from computer will transfer to iPhone.

6. Peer-to-peer networking (i.e. ability to transfer contact info/photos/other data between close-range iPhones via Bluetooth or IR.)

7. Streaming media (a la Apple TV model). Imagine previewing movie trailers while standing outside a movie theater trying to decide what to watch?

8. Blink (RFID) technology/digital wallet - ability to use phone similarly to "Blink" enabled credit cards for point-of-sale transactions.

Default What About Corporate E-mail??????

So am I the only person who desperately wants this feature and feel as though the iPhone would be a total package (for me) if the iPhone had it? To me this is something major that Apple left out!!!! Don't get me wrong; it's a beautiful phone...I bought one. But how likely do you all feel a software update will come to allow this? I'm using the 14 day return period to decide if I will be happy I kept it if it is never capable of acting as a Blackberry does with Outlook e-mail.

A lot of the features people have suggested will probably be fixed in an update such as Flash and the sort.
