I liked this part which I read over on MacRumors on the same subject.
"Furthermore, given Apple's product cycle that typically sees new iPhone launches in June or July each year, it is possible that even more advanced chips [beyond the 1GHz] will be available by the time the iPhone is ready for its next refresh."

The title of this thread & the article is misleading...lol...I read it as Toshiba memory = 1GHz and thought, when did memory come out in GHz?!?
1GHz processor in an iPhone would be great though.
