I will be upgrading my son's V1 to the new 3G S, as a college graduation present. Personally, I have no issues with my current V1 and I think that is a wonderful phone. I don't need the next best and greatest offerings. I can afford to wait.

I think what happened was that the iPhone 3G Was rushed out and the iPhone 3GS was what was meant to be. Next year, I think we will see the "real" 2,1 - which is what i'm waiting for.

Yeah - you and iPhoneMonster will get your new iPhones in 2010, and the "true" upgrade will appear in 2011...

Check this link out:

Did you check that table out? Look at how many improvements they've made from iPhone 3g to iPhone 3gs in comparison to original to 3g

Then I'd wait for 2012

i have to disagree on that one. I think the 3G was scheduled at a great time and much needed improvement with the 3G network. The 3G S is what i believed to be rushed. As far as im concerned the original 3G was plenty of fast enough. All it needed out the box that would be mms capabilities and maybe a "video recorder" and that would of held most customers over til 2010 release.

The 3GS is one of the most advanced devices on the market. Name one phone you would buy right now and sell your 3G or 3GS!! At subsidized pricing you get a smoking hot phone. Even at the the discount pricing a lot of us paid, I still do not regret the purchase. The 3G is a great phone. I think the 3GS is even better and will be made more so through offerings in the app store.
