I like the idea of not having to worry about anti-virus software or backing up. What I don't like is having to give up control of my data. I would like to be in total control of that and not have it on servers. Last month there was that incident of a Sidekick outage losing data in the 'cloud'.

Chrome OS netbooks will not have traditional hard disk drives -- they will rely on non-volatile flash memory and Internet-based storage for saving all of your data.
All the applications will be web-based, meaning users won't have to install apps, manage updates or even backup their data.
