Video Converter that Reduces File Size

I currently use Xilisoft Iphone Video converter and it works great and is really shiny, BUT it makes the file pretty much the same size as the original avi. I'd like to find a program that would reduce the size of the video (quality reduction isn't that big of a deal for me) so that I can fit more videos on my iphone.

Do you guys know of any programs that not only converts AVI's, Divx, etc..., but also compresses/reduces the file size of the output video? Thanks.

I started using "any video converter" and it works, although its significantly slower than xilisoft. It cuts the video into about half the size of what xilisoft would output. Still looking for a better alternative, but in case anyone else was curious thats the program I started using.
