I haven't used this product and I have just read the spec. I don't really see an advantage that makes this $100 more expensive than handbrake which will decrypt as well as encode your video.

I am probably missing something though.

Its basically a time saver (haven't tried using Handbrake recently so maybe its faster now) - it saved me many hours when encoding to H-264 (basically I could use this format instead of just MP3, even with MP3 it saved time) on early Duo Core MBP - have yet to compare on recently purchased 2.6 Duo Core 2 MBP but I expect this still holds. With this you first need to rip the DVD so you lose a little time there but I often found Handbrake failed to rip correctly or had issue finding content on some DVD's. MTR and Turbo-264 does not have this issue.

you have one up on me having used turbo but I haven't have any problems with handbrake. As its free I would suggest you give it a try as you have nothing to loose. If it meets your needs great... If not go spend your money.
