Been awhile since anyone posted here, and don't know how long I'll wait for a response, but does anyone know the version number of this software -
xxxx://www.pqdvd.com/dvd-to-ipod-movie-video-converter.html which charges $40
vs.
xxxx://www.downloadpipe.com/audio-multimedia-converters/review-PQ-DVD-to-iPod-Video-Suite-Pro-1067573.html
which is going for $16!?!

Is the second like a year old or something? It looks kinda fishy, but I'm yanking my hair out, as others seemingly are, at having a file output that is WAY bigger than it should be.

ps: yeah. You actually have to change the xxxx:// to http://. I'm not sure if Chris wants any hot linking aside from the original post.

never mind... payment button doesn't work. I think it's a scam to get your email addy. Lucky I have a trash email addy!

edit: Well so far it is a basic "1-click" after you save your prefs the first time. Doing a 2:35.00 movie in 1:33.00 at 128k stereo/500k 24fps so it's faster than before. Should I lower the 500k? I assume I should be doing it in mpeg-4 and not H.(whatever) which it says is alot slower but a smaller file after? It says the output should be about 500meg. *fingers crossed*

LOL! With all these settings and such, it just occurred to me... Where is this file saving to?

update: Saves to the root of drive C. Did the H.264 which takes longer but is smaller. Ya right! 128k stereo/200k 24fps was over 30 meg LARGER. Think I'll stay with the mpeg 4 for now.

summary: In a nutshell, set the preferences and this is a decent, reasonably quick dvd/ipod converter. A 2 1/2 hour movie will take you 1 1/2 hours to do.

After it converts you just drag and click to itunes. It does take about an hour and a half to two hours depending on the length of the DVD. But I just leave it running and go do other things and when I come back the movie is there. Oh, and a helpful hint, disable the screen saver because if your screen saver comes on you have to start all over. I learned this the hard way.
I bought this software today from Best Buy for $9.99 and it's the best. It is very user friendly & simple to use. Thanks for recommending it!!
