This is a discussion on .mp4 performance tweaks for iphone within the DVD to iPhone and iPod Touch forums, part of the Desktop Software category; You guys know when you get a movie or tv show off Itunes or whatever it has the black spaces ...
You guys know when you get a movie or tv show off Itunes or whatever it has the black spaces on top and bottom of screen? Is there any program or any way to take those spaces out and enlarge the resolutio. Or w/e?
you can zoom in by double-tapping on the video.
and handbrake will crop, but i personally wouldn't mess with it.

alright, i appreciate the advice, i just wish thr movie filled up the screen. If i doubble tap it cuts video on the left and right side... I guess you gotta give and take..
i'm sure it's possible to stretch it one way or another, but that would obviously distort the video...

I also got another problem. I got an mpeg-4 ( i think its same thing as .mp4). And im trying to sync the movie with my iphone and itunes shows it in the library, plays it, but when i try to sync it says " this movie is not supported blah, blah, because it cannot play on iphone"? What now?
you need to change the extension to .m4v.

how do i do that? I got windows vista.. If that maters..
open windows explorer, go to file->view options (something like that... i can't verify as i'm on OSX right now), and there should be an option to "show all file extensions" or something like that. Check that, and then you'll be able to write in whatever you want for the file extension.
OR you can higlight the file in itunes, go to "advanced" and select "convert for ipod/iphone", but that will take a long time because it creates a completely new file, which isn't necessary.
