Default DVD to iPhone Converters

I own about 300 DVD's, and would like to watch some of them on my iPhone when I'm travelling. I have been downloading and trying out a number of converters, many of which have been talked about in this forum. I have a couple of questions on two converters for those of you who have experience with them.

********* DVD to iPhone looks interesting. However, the cropping tool (used to eliminate the top/bottom black bars) seems to stretch out the image, making everyone tall and thin (not entirely a bad thing). While there is a zoom capability, I haven't figured out how to simply zoom in and cut off the sides in order to eliminate the black bars without the stretch effect. Any ********* users figure this one out?

On the other hand, Clone DVD Mobile has a very nice cropping tool that doesn't stretch out the image. However it doesn't seem to work with non-anamorphic films. But my unrelated question is does anyone know if Clone DVD Mobile supports H.264? The application doesn't say, and neither does their website.

What I'm looking for is an iPhone converter that is Vista compatible, outputs to H.264, has an excellent cropping tool that eliminates black bars on top/bottom without stretching the image, and supports dual core processors. It seems like many converts do most of these things well. I don't care whether it is free or not.

Thanks.

Yes, I did try it, and can't recall what the issue was with it...overall it worked well, but there was one thing I didn't like...I should have kept some notes.

Interesting that the name of the first product was replaced by "****". I wonder if that means they have done something bad?

If your on a Mac you can use Handbrake to rip the DVD, then use iSquint to encode for iPhone at H.264, then it automatically puts it in your iTunes for ya.

Thats what I Do.

For reference Both are FREE

I just use CuCuSoft works great and its an all-in-one app no need for a ripper and a seperate converter. It does cost $30 from the manufacturers website, but I figure I paid 600 for a phone I can pony up 30 for a good dvd ripper.

They have Handbrake for Windows, but it seems like it doesn't support Vista.

This is tempting. Where does it store the DVD at? In your iTunes videos folder?
