Default DVD Rips skip

Hi
I was wondering how ppl is convertng their DVD's for iphone. I have a new G3 16mb and when I convert using (seemingly) any ripping software the video "stalls" or "skips" about twice a second. Really just a repeditive, quick pause but really annoying.

The ripped video plays fine using Quicktime in windows.

I've tried a few different settings of frame rate, etc but still the same.

How do you rip DVD's, what software and what settings?

Thanks in advance

I haven't messed too much with rips on my iphone, but if it plays fine in QT then there's some compatibility thing.

Aren't mp4's pretty much the standard now? I'm fond of H.264 codec in mp4, too, but no idea if it's suited to iPhone

I tried a 4th brand of ripping software and it works perfectly. I'm not sure if naming the software is appropriate here, but it's working.

Try Handbrake. Works well.
