Default Does Handbrake crash anyone else's mac?

happens to me ALL THE TIME if i'm multitasking, but if i let it go overnight, it works ok. starting to get really annoying. Haven't quite narrowed it down much beyond that.

too bad, because i really like the features.

nope, haven't experienced this at all. have you tried uninstalling it and then re-installing? hope you find out what's causing this - i really like handbrake and find it incredibly useful...

When you say Handbrake crash, are you referring to a kernel panic (the endless spinning beachball) that can only be resolved by a force quit of Handbrake?

Hippo,

Try this link to diagnose and troubleshoot. Looks like in fact you are having a kernel panic. There could be a number of causes including hardware as well as software.

Try the guidance and report back what happens.

yeah... would you say it's safe to send reports to apple about this?

since ripping my DVDs is technically illegal, i haven't been doing that.

Try running AppleJack, it will likely fix the problem.

I actually narrowed it down to a particular USB device causing the crashes... Or, more accurately, the combination of that and handbrake.
