Do all the video converters suck?

I have been on the quest for the feature set that I NEED in a Iphone video converter. I cannot find any that do everything I need. The most difficult feature to find seems to be being able to increase the destination video's volume. Do any of you know of a product that has all the following features?
    1. Batch convert: In need to be able to set up a bunch of videos to convert, and let it run all night long. (For example two or three DVD's of a television series, each DVD has 5-6 episodes)
    2. That has profiles to include the Iphone 3G. (16:9 aspect ratio, full screen)
    3. That will let me increase (not normalize) the volume of the output video.
    4. Can handle many source formats, including DVD and MKV.
    5. Be able to specify output filename, or output filename mask.
Thus far, I have tried Toast 9, Popcorn (Both MAC), Nero Recode (latest version) Xillisoft Video Converter, AVS Video converter (PC). All fall short in one area or another.
Sure could use some help, there are scads of them out there and I cant try them all...
A less desirable solution is something that would just do the volume. If I had a solution for volume, several of the above tools would suffice.

I've been using videora for a while and it's ok. I guess you'll have to spend some cash for a good one.

Try PQDVD it has most of what you asked for. It may have a volume adjustment I just never used that feature if it does have it. Mark
Constantly having to be tethered to a charger is NOT MOBILE in my opinion (I.e., iPhone 3GS battery).

iSquint is really good for converting and you can add more files and convert them together. You can mark if it shall fit iPod/iPhone/iPod Touch or Apple Tv. You can also mark if it shall add the file(s) to iTunes.

    Highly recommended
