EDIT: Here is a great write up from gizmodo about the current precoess for ripping BluRay discs.
So i'm feeling my way through ripping my first blu-ray, which is proving to be quite tricky. I ordered
this drive from Newegg, and it does the trick (it is relatively cheap because it does not burn BDs... only reads, which is fine for my purposes).
Turns out, there is no bluray decryption application for mac as far as i can tell, so i'm trying out the trial of AnyDVD HD to decrypt while Handbrake does the encoding.
Getting the video has worked fine the first couple of tries, but ausio has gotten messed up both times. First, i got the commentary track, which sounded fine, but was not what i wanted, and the second was just a bunch of pops and clicks...
So it's still a work in progress, but i hope once i get though this trial-and-error phase, i'll find a recipe that will get the job done.
anyone else give it a shot yet?
